Clinicians

Debbie Bibb
Creating the Ultimate Trail Horse
www.debbiebibb.com
(719) 748-8543

Debbie BibbBased at Running D Ranch in Florissant, Colorado, Debbie Bibb is a trainer and clinician with more than 30 years of horse experience. Debbie graduated from the John Lyons Trainer Certification program in Parachute, Colo., in 2001 after 6 months of study under both John and Josh Lyons, for which she used her two horses, Classy and Cheyenne. Now, as a nationally recognized horse trainer, Debbie knows one thing remains the same throughout the equine world - all horses have the same basic instincts and thought processes that can be used to teach any desired skill. Her Building the Horse of a LifetimeT training program is especially designed to educate both horse and rider so that the two may work together successfully.

Debbie's goal is to improve the relationship a person has with his or her horse while achieving better performance through patient, gentle and consistent training methods. She trains a wide variety of horses at her ranch and conducts demonstrations and clinics to teach people her training methods. Debbie has experience in both English and Western disciplines and enjoys teaching horse owners of all experience levels.

Debbie BibbShe believes that the key ingredients of horse training are focus, patience, consistency and timing. If you have focus, she believes, all the other ingredients come together: "If you are focused, you are waiting for even the smallest positive change in your horse and thus gain patience. With focus, you also gain the consistency and timing that are critical in success with your horse." Debbie believes that using these training principles, a person can have the best horse they've ever had - the horse of a lifetime.

Always a true professional, Debbie is constantly striving to increase her training knowledge. She continues to study John and Josh Lyons' new developments in training, and also studies other trainers’ and clinicians’ methods in search of anything she can take away to improve her own program and help others with their horses.

Debbie has always had a passion for horses - from a horse-crazy little girl to an adult who is still amazed by the power and beauty of horses. Her education with horses began at age 5 when her parents bought her a horse and she started taking riding lessons. In addition to owning horses, she participated in 4-H and Girl Scout horse programs while she was growing up. Later on, she studied as an Equine Science/Pre-Vet major at Colorado State University, led horse packing trips and taught packing in the Wyoming back country and graduated from the Colorado Outdoor Adventure Guide School near Cripple Creek.

Debbie also strongly believes in giving back to the horse community. She supports equine rescue groups by offering demonstrations and clinics to use as fundraisers and special training assistance for rescue horses. With the help of United Animal Nations, Debbie and her husband, Mark, rescued their Percheron colt Zeb from the Premarin foal auctions in Canada.

Craig Cameron, Original "Cowboy's Clinician"

Craig CameronA Native Texan and known as the original "Cowboy's Clinician," Craig Cameron is on the road more than 44 weeks a year, covering 80,000 miles and demonstrating the style of horsemanship he has perfected in the last 23 years. Called the "public defender of the horse," Craig dedicates himself to those who educate their horses by first educating themselves. At an age where most have long since retired the very thought of starting colts, Craig starts hundreds of horses each year. On top of his daily work with horses, he is famous for his four-day clinics which blend education with entertainment for participants at his Double Horn ranches in Bluff Dale, TX and Lincoln, NM.

Clinic topics range from basic to advanced horsemanship, colt starting, ranch and cattle work, problem-solving, reining and trail obstacles. This year he plans to incorporate horse-camping and back-country riding techniques into his lesson plans.

Craig has created a program that builds confidence and trust between man and horse. Rather than fight the animal, he offers patience and understanding that leaves the horse wanting to do what is asked of him. Crediting legendary horseman Ray Hunt with opening his eyes to the possibilities in working through understanding the horse, Craig has earned a well-deserved international following with his philosophy of teaching that eliminates rough handling of horses.

As a life-long rancher, working cowboy and horse trainer, Craig has just about done it all, from cow-calf, stocker operations, custom hay-baling, or capturing wild cattle for fellow ranchers. After years of bull riding on the professional rodeo circuit and successfully operating his cattle business, Craig decided that it was truly the horse that attracted him. He soon discovered his aptitude for communicating with the horse and meticulously refined and nurtured this talent. He wanted to give back something to the horse. When he was ready, he began conducting western horsemanship clinics and demonstrations to help riders increase their knowledge and understanding of their horse and to keep the cowboy tradition alive.

Craig Cameron's original entertaining and motivational style is regularly sought after by TV, radio, magazine, fairs, ranches, concerts, universities and many celebrities. Craig has worked with and for such notables as Lynn Anderson, Ralph Lauren, Ty Murray, Michael Martin Murphy, Cody Lambert, Bum Phillips, Charmayne James, Bob Moorehouse, Buck Taylor and others. Singing artist Red Steagall says, "Cameron's year includes hundreds of public appearances nationwide, in Europe and in the Canadian Provinces. He always entertains the crowd and he's as good with a horse as anybody I have ever seen."

Well known rodeo champion Ty Murray sums it up: "Craig has a genuine love and compassion for horses. He respects them enough to try to see through their eyes."

Jason Patrick

Jason PatrickAll of Jason's childhood was spent horseback. Jason grew up on a ranch owned by his family in the Yampa Valley of the Colorado Rockies, near Steamboat Springs. During those years the ranch never owned less than 30 head of horses. As a 10 year old Jason had 5 horses in his "string" and they were all worn out by the end of the summer. Jason was hired for the first time to train a horse by longtime Colorado rancher Jack Orr; Jason was 12 at the time and has continued the business ever since.

Jason was very fortunate growing up to ride with some exceptional horsemen all over the country. When Jason was a teenager he got the opportunity to work in Northern California and see some exceptional natural horsemen completing everyday ranch work. Jason was hooked and has been on a journey to improve his horsemanship ever since. Jason's goal is to be an exceptional horseman by the time he's 80 years old.

In clinics and demonstrations, Jason's focus is demonstrating how to earn the trust and loyalty of a horse and then how to transfer that trust and loyalty into something practical. Natural Horsemanship is wonderful, but sometimes is not put into practical uses. Jason's focus is how to keep your horse as a trusting partner as you begin to ask for more performance.

Jason's sense of humor adds to his humble approach to teaching, bringing new fun to people and their horses from across the country. Jason conducted his first clinic in 1998 and has continued since, teaching in disciplines including Ranch Horse Versatility, Ranch Roping, Mounted Patrol Police Horsemanship, Trail Clinics, Colt Starting, Spook Proofing and Natural Horsemanship Clinics of all levels.

Mike Ross, Using the Horse's Own Power

Mike RossMike Ross believes in Horse Power. Whether he’s turning a young colt loose for his first turn in the round pen, or swinging a leg over the saddle on a troubled veteran, he uses the horse’s own power—or as Mike see it, the horse’s free will—to build the horse’s confidence and skills. His proven method leads to horses that have “learned to learn,” meaning they are willing and ready for any discipline or use. Mike will demonstrate key elements of his Horse Power methods at the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo in Denver.

In Mike’s experience, a horse in training usually starts out either panicked or perplexed, and grows through stages into trust, respect, understanding, and ultimately, partnership with the human. Mike’s methods use the best aspects of natural horsemanship, versatility training and even what Mike calls “cowboy dressage” to give horse more understanding and rider more enjoyment.

Karen Scholl, Horsemanship for Women:
at Rocky Mountain Horse Expos!

Karen Scholl & BergWith almost 20 years of study in psychology-based horse training and 10 years instructing courses and clinics, Karen Scholl brings a unique perspective to the horse industry with her program, Horsemanship for Women.

Karen describes that, “Horses look to the leadership qualities of other horses for survival, and because most women are not taught leadership skills from an early age, it’s very common for us to become fearful or frustrated with our horse.”

By traveling all over the country teaching courses, Karen offers safe, supportive clinics where women learn the skills to communicate with their horse with lasting results. Even the husbands are impressed!

Karen Scholl & BergKaren’s formal education includes many years of teaching technical courses for Intel, an AA Degree in Equine Science, 3-Star Parelli Instructor certification, and former President of Parelli Natural Horse-Man-Ship.

“I’ve had extensive study in psychology-based horse training, and because I didn’t grow up with horses, I completely relate to the challenges so many women face. At the completion of every clinic many say that they are no longer afraid of their horse!” Karen says, “It’s the most rewarding thing I can imagine doing for people.”

Tools designed to adjust for the limited strength of women and free safety video downloads are just some of the opportunities Karen offers to help women gain more confidence, feel safe and have more fun with their horses.

“My greatest desire is to help people have even more enjoyment with their horse by expanding their communication skills”. As an educator Karen’s commitment to the horse industry is strong and supporting venues of continuing education for today’s horse owners is a key component.

Visit Karen’s website, www.karenscholl.com or call Karen’s office at 888-238-3447 for more information and scheduling.

Rich Scott: Vision of Unity Horsemanship

Rich ScottI have been in and around the horse industry my whole life. With exposure to a large array of horsemanship disciplines: such as trail riding, back country trips, large group rides with 100 or more riders, showing halter and performance horses, breeding programs, team roping, ranch roping, riding outside horses for the public, and my favorite colt starting.

Giving private instruction, from as early as 12 or 13 years old and speaking publicly since 1991. With influences such as my father Bob Scott, who provided me with the opportunity to explore, learn, and letting experience be my teacher. Also Ray Hunt exposed me to the horse prospective, by keeping the horse and me on the outside of trouble, and staying out of the middle of it. And without Tom Dorrance, I would not have been able to look for the good in things, even in the midst of difficulty, which is one of the greatest lessons of all.

So Bring Your Vision And Let’s Find The Unity Between The Horse And The Human.

We are looking for demonstration horses for the Ignacio, Colorado Expo. So if you have a particular thing you would like to have different about your horse, or what they do, like better ground manners, bridling or saddling issues, more confidence, colt starting, refinement with disengagement, shoulder placement, feet handling, or preparation to any transition you want to make, please call 303-884-6026 or e-mail rockinghorseman@aol.com

Missy Wryn

WHolistic Horsemanship ~ Training the Whole Horse for a Safer Ride
www.WHolisticHorsemanship.com

Missy WrynOver 20 years of training some of the most difficult and dangerous horses led me to recognize that the source of behavior and training problems is typically pain.  I have developed a safer, more effective training program, Training the Whole Horse™, that includes identifying and implementing appropriate treatment for the source of problem behavior. I have also identified Four Core Emotional Concerns that humans and horses share which accelerate and strengthen communication between horse and human, along with Three Foundations that every horse must learn to be safer around a person, and Five Fundamentals that translate under saddle to a safer ride.

I lecture and conduct presentations across the country for various Horse Expos and teaching facilities.  Some of my 2008 public appearances include:

  • Hands on Horses Expo
  • Minnesota Horse Fest
  • Ride the West
  • Celebrate the Horse
  • Kitsap Saddle Club (August)
  • Rocky Mountain Horse Expo (September)

My articles and interviews about me have been featured in Holistic Horse, Western Horseman, Western & English Today, Natural Horse Magazine, Appaloosa Journal and many others. In 2007, I appeared with blind and deaf student Vaughn Brown on The Horse Show with Rick Lamb, which aired on RFDTV.
