Rare Single-day Rocky Mountain Horse Expo Coming Up
September 6, 2008 – Grand Junction
It’s only one day, but oh, what a day: renowned clinicians Karen Scholl, Jason Patrick and Mike Ross share their expertise with horse enthusiasts in two sessions each. Dr. John Harris addresses audiences on the subject for which he’s the acknowledged expert, equine lameness. It’s rare to find speakers of this caliber at a single-day event, and even more unusual to find them at an event where admission is free. Private treaty horse sales and breed demonstrations round out the program, and select vendors present goods and services of particular interest to horsemen.
Karen Scholl believes everyone can learn the “way to be” with horses; her Horsemanship for Women™ program examines the natural behavior patterns of women, men, horses, dogs and kids in a way that’s fun, informative, and empowers riders, especially women, to make the adjustments in their behavior to create change in their life. In Jason Patrick’s experience, many people understand the concept of natural horsemanship, but need information to translate it to their practical needs; with a ranching background and training in classical riding, Jason shows how to put natural horsemanship to work to enhance the rider’s relationship with the horse. Mike Ross thinks every young horse deserves the right beginnings, and his program covers the elements of colt-starting that create a horse who will be sound, both mentally and physically, for a lifetime. All three of these great horsemen present programs that incorporate audience questions and concerns.
