Just Between Us: Rocky Mountain Horse Expo Private Treaty Horse Sales
Every Rocky Mountain Horse Expo offers the opportunity for horse buyers and sellers to connect in person and conduct their business… well… privately.
Private treaty horse sales aren’t auctions. Negotiations are done to the mutual satisfaction of the transacting parties, and all terms, conditions and prices are kept as confidential as the parties wish. Sellers rent stalls for their sale horses, the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo provides exposure for the horses, and buyers view—and perhaps even try—the horses at their convenience during the Horse Expo.
What does the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo include in the seller’s contract package?
- Stall space, including use of all barn facilities such as wash racks, feed and shavings services if available on premises.
- Presentation time: every day at the Horse Expo, a specific time will be set aside for the Private Treaty Sale Horses to be presented formally in an arena.
- Paddock time: The Rocky Mountain Horse Expo will make paddocks available at designated times for sellers to demonstrate their horses to individual buyers.
- At least one veterinarian and one brand inspector will be on call at each Rocky Mountain Horse Expo, for the convenience of on-site pre-purchase exams and bill-of-sale completions.
- Advertising:
- Sellers who contract for stalls by the stated deadline will be listed in the RMHE program and can also buy separate program advertising space.
- All sellers who contract by the stated website deadline will be listed on the RMHE website, and may purchase additional advertising space on the website.
- A list of private treaty sellers will be available at the entry gate and/or stalling office.
Sellers must comply with all requirements for health papers, insurance, etc., as specified by the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo contract. For the fine print, see “Booths & Stalls,” and “Contracts & Docs” at RockyMountainHorseExpo.com, or call (303) 292-4981 for more information.
Private Treaty Sales: transactions concluded to everyone’s satisfaction, in person and on the spot—at every Rocky Mountain Horse Expo.
